Biography

Candida (Canny) Brady is a London-based Director of Photography working internationally across commercial, drama, documentary, artist projects, and television. Since starting as a clapper loader in 1995, she has shot two feature films and worked on many more as an operator and crew member. Recent work includes filming "The Ancestors" (Director Zodwa Nyoni, BBC/BFI), starring Clint Dyer and Pamela Nomvete. Her sensitivity for filming architecture, detail, and process has led to international projects documenting architect Francis Kéré in Burkina Faso. Installation films include "Movements and their Images" and "Underground Drawing" (The Drawing Centre, New York), and "Modern Times: Responding to Chaos" (De La Warr Pavilion). Commissions have come from Kettle's Yard, the Serpentine Gallery, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Royal Academy of Arts, including a film for the final room of "Sensing Spaces: Architecture Re-Imagined."
