Biography

Jussi is an award winning freelance feature film, feature Documentary, TV Drama, and Short film editor from Helsinki, Finland who has built a strong reputation working on several internationally acclaimed feature films and documentaries such as “COMPARTMENT NO 6”, “THE HAPPIEST DAY IN THE LIFE OF OLLI MAKI” Director Juho Kuosmanen, “THE SUMMER BOOK” Director Charlie Mcdowel, “THE INVISIBLE FIGHT” by Rainer Sarnet,“AALTO-THE ARCHITECT OF EMOTIONS” and “ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE FOREST” by Virpi Suutari. Jussi has now written and directed his first science fiction action short film “STRIVE” that premiered in 2025. Latest work include “NIGHTBORN” by Hanna Bergholm will Premier at the 2026 Berlinale Film Festival and is in the main competition there. ”THE WOODCUTTER STORY” by Mikko Myllylahti premiered at Critics' Week in 2022 and “THE SUMMER BOOK” 2025 by Charlie McDowell. His documentary work includes “AALTO THE ARCHITECT OF EMOTIONS” and “ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE FOREST” by Virpi Suutari. Jussi gained a Master of Arts, for Film Editing, 2012. Aalto University, the School of Arts, Design and Architecture. Berlinale Talent Campus 2017, Editing Studio. Awarded for Best Editing for “COMPARTMENT NO 6” in 2021,“AALTO” in 2020 and “HAPPIEST DAY IN THE LIFE OF OLLI MÄKI” in 2017, at the Finnish Film Academy Awards. Nominated for Best Editing for “JUICE” in 2019 and “KORSO” in 2015. Festival de Cannes 2022, Critics week,”THE WOODCUTTER STORY” directed by Mikko Myllylahti won the French distribution Award. Festival de Cannes 2021, Main competition Grand Prix: ”COMPARTMENT6” directed by Juho Kuosmanen.
