Biography

Lucas Roche is a versatile Film Editor, Colourist and Online Editor. He has worked across genres in feature films, TV, commercials and music promos for a variety of producers including the BBC, Channel 4, Sky Showtime, Sky Documentaries, Sky Arts, A24, Universal Music Group, Element Pictures and Warp Films. He is a skilful editor with experience of finding multiple ways to support the director’s vision, whether that be with dynamic and eye-catching techniques, or by focusing on the less visible elements of structure, rhythm, and pace. He believes the edit can be the final draft of the script, and he always looks for new story-telling possibilities that may enhance the original intentions. Lucas has also written screenplays, marked with a worldwide cinema release of the feature film COCKNEYS vs ZOMBIES which he co-wrote from the director’s initial concept. Learning script structure techniques from a writer’s perspective has undoubtedly benefitted his narrative capabilities as an editor. As Head of Department he has frequent experience of co-ordinating with Music Score, Sound, and VFX teams, such as when he was Lead Editor of THE GALLOWS POLE series for BBC / Element Pictures. As a Colourist and Online Editor he has completed final delivery for Cinema and TV many times.
