Biography

Vera Simmonds is a confident and creative editor, who has a wealth of technical knowledge, experience and skills in post production to delivery. She is calm under pressure, working in fiction and documentaries. Vera can work using Avid, Premier, Final Cut and a wide range of other, relevant software. She has an MA in Editing from the National Film and Television School. A number of her short films she edited were selected for festivals, including Cannes Film Festival, Sheffield Doc Festival and Edinburgh International Film Festival. “THE BIGGER PICTURE” won the 2015 BAFTA for best British short animation and it was nominated for an Oscar in the same category. Recent editor credits include“PHANTOM PARROTT” a feature Documentary directed by Kate Stonehill & produced by Steven Lake which premiered at CPH DOX Festival in Denmark in 2023. “MY BLOND GF” a short Film directed by Rosie Morris, Produced by Clair Maleney, Daria Nitsche and Rebecca Mark-Lawson @ Tyke Films. “GOODBYE BREASTS!”Documentary Written, produced and directed by Joanna Callaghan. “DEPENDENCE”a feature documentary directed by Grace Harper Brighouse and produced by Alistair Payne-James.
