Ah Girl Premieres at IFFR

Ah Girl Premieres at IFFR

Ah Girl by Editor Hoping Chen BFE is set to premiere at the IFFR in Rotterdam. A young girl is caught in a war between her separated parents, trying to make sense of it all. Bottling up the lightning intensity of childhood, Ang Geck Geck Priscilla uses her memories from 1990s Singapore to craft a heart-rending debut. Seven is the age when you begin to understand the adult world, but you’re still treated like a child. Our naïve but sassy titular heroine has a crush on a cute boy and is a thriving chewing gum saleswoman at school. However, she instead must spend more time minding her 5-year-old sister and navigating the petty battle between her separated parents, who are self-absorbed with their dating lives and ricocheting the sisters between homes. Ah Girl tackles the irrationality of adult behaviour through the eyes of children with utmost sincerity, quietly taking seriously the joy and anguish experienced by kids. Basing the film on memories of her own childhood, Ang Geck Geck Priscilla puts us on the same emotional plane as her young Singaporean protagonists growing up in 1994. Ah Girl’s world is brought to life by its cast of riveting young actors and doses of situational humour, the playful cinematography further capturing her quirkiness. You’ll root for confident, smug and outspoken Ah Girl until the end in this emotionally profound and singular depiction of childhood.

Courney Love Antiheroine Documentary

Courney Love Antiheroine Documentary

Llewellyn Associates is proud to announce that Director of Photography Magdalena Kowalczyk's latest work, Antiheroine, has premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival. The documentary offers an uncompromising look at the life and legacy of singer, songwriter, and actor Courtney Love. Directed by Edward Lovelace and James Hall, Antiheroine arrives as Love prepares to release new music for the first time in over a decade, marking a powerful return for the artist who has left an indelible mark on rock and pop culture. Kowalczyk' captures the complexity and intensity that define Love's journey - from her "love at first sound" connection with Kurt Cobain, to her groundbreaking music career and electrifying film work, to her evolution into hard-won self-awareness. After years of having her story told by others, Love now speaks entirely on her own terms. "Don't do it until you can't hold it in anymore," Love reflected on the process of creating her new album — an ethos that pulses through every frame of Antiheroine. Magdalena Kowalczyk is represented by Llewellyn Associates for commercial, narrative, and documentary work.
